HOW CAN YOU SECURE MY OFFER IN AN OVERBID FRENZY?

MAKE SURE YOU HAVE THE FOLLOWING – FIRST AND FOREMOST:

  • Relationship and pre-approval letter with a bank or mortgage broker (preferably local but not required)
  • Understand closing costs associated with inspections, title and escrow, property taxes, and any move out or move in fees.
  • Don't rush! If you are a tenant, don't give notice too early and if you are doing work to the home, leave yourself a buffer for the cosmetic improvements before you move in.
  • Notify friends, businesses, medical professionals, etc. of your forwarding address.
  • If the neighbor's don't bake cookies for you, bake cookies for them and bring a bottle of wine when introducing yourself!
